In April 2025, I was honoured by the Mayor of Croydon.
To be honest, it caught me off guard. I never set out to win awards, I just wanted to help people who felt unheard. So to be recognised, especially in my own community, truly means a lot.
The Mayor’s team said it was for my leadership, work ethic, and commitment to mental health across the boroughs. But for me, it was a moment to pause and reflect, not just on what I’ve done, but on how far I’ve come.
This wasn’t just a personal win. It felt like a quiet victory for everyone who’s ever struggled in silence, for those who give their all behind the scenes, and for every family trying to support someone through tough times.
Recognition like this reminds me that we’re making progress, slowly, but progress nevertheless. And God knows, it drives me to keep going, to keep showing up, and to keep fighting for better care, deeper understanding, and stronger systems.
Grateful for the acknowledgment, and even more grateful for the adventures that led me here.
God is good, God is love.
Love, Kevin
